The Dirt on Earth Day

family at wesselman woods

Can you feel it? The sun’s hanging out a little longer, flowers are showing off, and that spring breeze is practically begging you to step outside.

Right on cue, Earth Day is just around the corner (April 22, for the planners out there). The Evansville Region is going all out this year with nature walks, crafty workshops, clean-ups, and more green goodness than you can shake a reusable straw at. But before we get into all the local fun, let’s talk about why this day actually matters.

It started back in 1970 with one idea: let’s give the Earth a little love. Now, it’s a global movement. And here in the Evansville Region, we’ve got plenty of reasons to celebrate, think river views, trails, wetlands, and a community that knows how to take care of what we’ve got.

The Evansville Region is rolling out crafty workshops, a party for the planet, and more green goodness than you can shake a reusable straw at. So grab your crew, step outside, and make some memories with Mother Nature.
