Opening its doors near the University of Evansville in 2016, Honey Moon Coffee Co. has now expanded to three unique locations in Evansville and Newburgh. They offer quality coffee from local roasters in a variety of preparations, baked goods, food and ice cream. Best known for their seasonal drinks and bubble waffles, Honey Moon is a beautiful community coffee shop and a popular Evansville spot. We think you’ll want to stay awhile, but when you’re in a hurry, you can hit the drive thru at their location off Burkhardt Road.

Black Lodge Coffee Roasters

Black Lodge Coffee Roasters is a small batch coffee roastery and cozy shop in New Harmony’s historic Cooper Shop on Church Street. They offer pour-overs, presses, cold brews, classic espressos, signature lattes, and single cup brews from their Curtis G4 Gold Cup. Their water chemistry is set to the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s brewing standards, and they only use organic milks and syrups. Black Lodge truly is a local treasure and well worth a visit.

Located on Main Street in downtown Evansville, River City is a full service espresso and coffee bar with a variety of pour over options and famous house-made syrups. The cafe also provides a place for local makers to showcase their high quality, handmade goods and carries products from over 60 artisans. Together, it’s an energizing setting to meet and connect with people or focus in on work while enjoying a delicious beverage. Not sure what to order? River Kitty Cat Cafe

Just across the street is River Kitty, a unique cat cafe that provides the Vanderburgh Humane Society another location to find homes for homeless cats in our community. You can either walk in or reserve a time to visit with the kitties, or just enjoy a drink in the cafe. Every dollar spent goes to VHS. Who knows, maybe you’ll leave with a Meowcchiato and a new furry family member! They also serve beer and wine, smoothies, macarons and other sweet treats.

Parlor -min

Parlor Doughnuts

Parlor is a craft doughnut and coffee shop on Evansville’s east side that provides a large dining area, drive-thru service, and on-site coffee roastery. In addition to their tasty bakery items, including layered doughnuts and breakfast food items (gluten-free, vegan, and keto options are available), you’ll find several specialty coffee drinks. Since opening here in 2019, they’ve expanded to multiple shops across the country.

Head down Second Street towards Haynie’s Corner and you’ll find neighborhood favorite, Penny Lane. Since the 1990s, Penny Lane Coffeehouse has offered a warm, friendly, and eclectic atmosphere, not to mention great coffee, smoothies, and sandwiches for every lifestyle and taste. They also sell local art and feature live performances by local musicians.

Mission Grounds is Evansville Rescue Mission’s new top-quality coffee shop, located near their thrift store inside Washington Square Mall. It features a full-service coffee menu, freshly-made muffins, and a wide variety of seating options and spaces that can be reserved for groups or meetings. Each purchase benefits the Mission, which is the oldest and largest men’s homeless shelter in Evansville. Try a pour-over, espresso, or specialty drink like the Turmeric Haze latte.
