Mo's e-story: A Place for Everyone

Mo Hobgood

Around here, we’re known for our Hoosier Hospitality, and Mo Hobgood lays it on thicker than your grandma’s cornbread. Mo is a visionary with a mission of inclusivity that rings through the walls of her two regional establishments.

Mo is the owner of Mo’s House in Haynie’s Corner in Evansville and Metzgers Tavern in Henderson, KY. Two staples of our region that put their own spin on Southern Charm.

Metzgers Tavern

Metzger's Tavern - KY

Step into Metzger's Tavern, and you’ll find yourself transported to a world where time slows down, and the hustle and bustle of daily life fades away. The air is thick with the glow of togetherness, and the low hum of conversations knits a sweater of stories and laughter that feel like a warm hug.

Mo's House

Step through the sleek, inconspicuous entrance of Mo's House, and you're instantly transported into a realm where mixology is an art form and every sip is a journey. As you settle into the plush, velvet-upholstered seats, the gentle murmur of conversations intertwines with the melodic beats of carefully curated playlists. The soft glow of Edison bulbs illuminates the bar, casting a warm ambiance that accentuates the rich hues of the mahogany countertops and the gleam of polished glassware. Each corner of Mo's House is a carefully crafted sensory experience, inviting patrons to revel in the symphony of flavors that await.

A Place for Everyone

I love just seeing the city progress. For instance, 4 years ago I wouldn’t say we were a city known for Drag. NOW…. That is very different. Progression is always nice to see and if I can be a part of it I’d love to. "
