Samantha's e-story: Showing Up for a Brighter Future

Meet Samantha Buente, the Unofficial Queen of Haynie’s Corner. 👑

Not the crown-and-scepter kind (though we wouldn’t put it past her)—Sam reigns with heart, hustle, and a contagious love for her neighborhood. If you’ve ever found yourself dancing in the streets at First Fridays, carving pumpkins with your neighbors, or cheering on a Wiffleball game with a hot dog in one hand and a local brew in the other, chances are Sam had something to do with it. As President of the Haynie’s Corner Arts District Association, she leads the charge on some of the city’s most beloved happenings, from Front Porch Fest to Pride Music Fest, and countless moments in between.

Originally from the rural Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts (cue the banjo), Sam moved to Evansville in 2004 to attend the University of Evansville. By 2008, she made it official: Evansville is home. And lucky for us, she took that choice seriously.

Show Up. Show Out.

“Just by showing up in Evansville, you really actually have an impact on how the city develops and how it changes and what’s funded and what comes next.”

That’s not just talk. In addition to leading HCADA, Sam owns Haynie’s Corner Brewing Company—a cozy, quirky microbrewery with the soul of a neighborhood living room. From book clubs to board games, trivia nights to new friendships, it’s the kind of place where everyone’s welcome and the vibes are always just right.

Sam believes in her neighborhood—and she’s not shy about it. Her goal? Make Haynie’s Corner “the best d*mn neighborhood in the world.”

And honestly? She’s doing it. With a team of local dreamers and doers, Sam’s helping Haynie’s Corner become a place where people don’t just live—they belong.

Drop by sometime and see what the buzz is all about. We think you’ll love it here. 🎺✨
