Since 2020, our four-county region has added 2,249 new residents, even as many mid-sized communities across the country face stagnation or decline. This growth isn’t accidental. It’s the result of intentional investment in our community!
Here’s how the numbers stack up across our four counties:
- Warrick County is leading the charge with a 3.8% population increase—the region’s strongest by far. Its attractive quality of life, new housing developments, and proximity to Evansville’s job centers make it a natural draw.
- Gibson County has rebounded in 2024 after a few years of decline, showing a positive 0.36% growth rate. This may be an early sign of industrial and housing opportunities taking root.
- Vanderburgh County, the region’s anchor, has kept its footing with a net gain of 270 residents over five years. After minor dips in 2021 and 2022, growth has resumed since 2023, with 662 new residents added since talent attraction campaigns began.
- Posey County has remained relatively flat overall, with a marginal total decline since 2020. But even here, 2024 shows a small bounce-back—a hopeful sign for the years ahead.
