Beyond the Mountain Top
The Victory Theatre and the Evansville African American Museum present: Beyond the Mountain Top. This event promises to be a powerful celebration of Dr. King’s Legacy and the ongoing fight for equality and justice. This night of unity will feature speakers, a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr, and local musicians. Local performers include DJ Chidi, Georgia Funkadelic, Bob Green, Dekar, Monte Skelton, Gina Moore, and BG3.
The Three Bs
This powerful program features music of the three most popular and recognized composers in classical music. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 is known for its unusual form and instrumentation — three violins, three violas, three cellos and basso continuo — and one of his most famous works. Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 bridges the divide between his two earlier, more clearly Mozart-derived concertos and a more personal style. Returning to Evansville to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 is internationally celebrated pianist Jon Nakamatsu, who continues to draw critical and public acclaim for his intensity, elegance, and electrifying solo, concerto, and chamber music performances. Brahms’ Fourth (and final) Symphony is full of warmth and beauty, and the symphony cuts as close to the heart as music can.
